“As the oddball cast prances around the gaudy realm of Asgard in chintzy armor babbling all sorts of palace intrigue nonsense, it’s endearing to watch Branagh attack this junk material like it’s another one of his Shakespeare adaptations. Let’s just say that the dialogue is significantly less inspired than what he usually works with.” – Philadelphia Weekly. 05/04/2011

Meeks Cutoff

“Reichardt’s film is muted, severe and hardly an audience-friendly experience. It’s another one of those art movies that film critics like because nothing happens. I was hypnotized from the opening sequence. Meek’s Cutoff is about the day-to-day grind, mundane tasks and the sick, helpless feeling of not knowing where you’re going.” – Philadelphia Weekly, 05/04/2011
